Do you have a guide for using these assets on tiled?

Love your disclaimer at the top! Mad respect.

What's the difference between the 4 seasons in this pack and the actual 4 seasonal forest packs? The rockwork looks like they're different. Do the others have more content than this one or are they essentially interchangeable?

(3 edits)

They are completely different, as you can see by looking at the grass, dirt, cliffs, trees, and water. The $10 version of this pack just borrows the color palettes from those sets. The 4 seasonal packs have maybe 5-6 times more content, as should be clear in the product descriptions.

However, it's worth noting that the free sample version of the 4 seasonal packs are similar in size to this pack.

This is a great pack! I used the free version to make a level in a short game built in Godot, and greatly enjoyed it. Thank you!

Looks cool, nice work! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Great artwork

Thanks! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

I recommend you to add

8x8 tag, if it is 8x8 size

16x16 tag, if it is 16x16 size

32x32 tag, if it is 32x32 size

I'll consider it, thank you ๐Ÿ‘

Really really beautiful!!!! Thank you so much, it really tied everything together

Thanks for the kind words! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Am I allowed to use your free stuff for commercial projects? I can't find a license anywhere.

Great work by the way! This matches the aesthetic I'm looking for perfectly.

At the bottom of the page on any of my products, you can find a "Read the Mana Seed User License" link.
https://selieltheshaper.weebly.com/user-license.html

That was fast. Thank you!

i cant figure out how to put it in RPG Maker MV ToT

I don't know enough about RPG Maker to help, but if you come to the Mana Seed Discord server (link at the bottom of the page), I'm sure you can find other devs using MV who can help you figure it out.

This looks really great! I'm new to this and I'm having a hard time trying to recolor the tree wall to match the other palettes I'm using. Is there like a program or setting I need to use to color match them?

Thank you!

I use Aseprite, but you can use any image editor with an eye dropper and fill bucket. GraphicsGale is free.

Copy the tree and ground tile from the color you want, and paste it into an empty space on the tree wall. Use the eye dropper to grab one new color, then switch to the fill bucket and tap on that equivalent pixel in the tree wall (make sure your full bucket is filling non-contiguous pixels, or use the magic wand then fill the selection). Repeat for every color (there are maybe 16-24 unique colors).

Thank you so much for the reply!

and it's FREE

This looks fantastic!
Complete newbie here, but which programs is this compatible for as is? Maker MV, PixelMaker, something else? I'm in the early planning stages of a fantasy rpg but I know...very little so far.
Thank you!

As with all my tilesets, it's compatible with any engine that uses 16x16 tiles. Or 32x32 or 48x48 if you resize it. Some engines my have layout or tileset resolution restrictions, in which case you may need to move stuff around. I recommend doing more research of the limitations on your game engine as well as how to use image editors (GraphicsGale is a good free pixel art tool).

Thanks a ton for replying! I have absolutely zero art skill, so I dunno how often I'd be messing with the sprites but it's good to know some engines have limitations on what you can put in for size. I'll look into all that, thank you kindly!

Generally, the easier an engine is the learn, the more restrictions and limitations it will have. So if you want to make a very specific type of game very quickly, you can learn RPG Maker in a few days, but it has a ton of rules for how tilesets work. At the other end of the spectrum, you can take weeks/months to learn Unity and make any kind of game you want with any kind of assets.

Ahh that makes sense! I'd like something I can learn the basics of moderately quickly, but can also take the time to really master without being too intimidated. Currently tinkering in PixelMaker MV, and since it's somewhat allowed me to import and place things I got here, I call that a win. My two main game ideas are for a top-down ARPG and a metroidvania, as those are some of my faves to play.

I bought this tileset earlier today and I'm really loving it so far!

I made some maps that I'm planning on using in my fan game. Can I upload some on those maps on a forum to show them to other people?

(+1)

Yeah that's fine. A link back would be a appreciated ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks for the quick reply! No need to worry, I was already planning on sharing a link for this page.

So, I'm tinkering a bit with this, but for the life of me I'm not understanding how the water foam is meant to work, in terms of animation and whether we are supposed to mirror it ourselves to get a result like in the image. Is it possible I'm getting my spacing wrong, too, as the foam doesn't align with the waterfall like in the picture.

It's hard to know exactly where you're going wrong. Can you join the Mana Seed Discord server so you can share some screenshots and we can help you figure it out?

absolutely, thank you.

I've created a game that's already been approved for Steam and a friend of mine told me about your work. You have alot of great artwork in here, some of the best I've seen in the past 20 years of developing games.

That's very kind of you, thank you ๐Ÿ˜

Just wanted to let you know that two tiles above the water fall in the Autumn set (19.05 - Gentle Forest 2.0c (seasonal palettes) has the wrong shade of green on the grass.

(+1)

Oh thanks, I'll look into that ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

This is great, thank you for making it available to everyone.

Hey, I'm new to all this and after hours of trying AND searching, I cannot figure out the bitmask for this (using Godot). can some one please help?

(1 edit) (+1)

I don't know Godot from a hole in the ground, but if you join my Discord server, we have a Godot help channel with other devs who might be and to answer your questions.

Hi, I'm new to this site.

I found, and experimented with this set all day yesterday and I am so blown away by how perfectly you style matched. This is my Favorite aesthetic. The games you cited as inspirations are all my favorite games from that generation. I also bought the village Bundle.

What do I need to do/pay in order to use these tiles to make Graphics/banners with words on them for like a personalized twitch page? I was originally planning to make my own tilesets and use these as a checklist for all the parts I might need to make, but I wanted to ask if I can make some stuff with your sets to use sooner, and then later replace.

Yeah, you can use my stuff to decorate your twitch page, that's fine. Glad you like it ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

Awesome! Thank you so much!

This is beautiful

Your Mana Seed series fits my need so well, I will buy all of it over time. Great Pixel Art! Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it! ๐Ÿ˜

Many will ask this .. What's the license? CC0 or what? Can I use these assets in a commercial game and do I need to give credit? :)

Yes, you can use in a commercial product (the "product" referenced in the link). You do not have to credit me, but it would be nice.

I will try to make the wording a little more clear in the future ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks Seliel for making these assets available for use in a commercial product :)

Beautiful assets!

Saw it on the justice bundle, and it really caught my eye.
It's really beautifull

Hi I don't understand, is this a game? or is it just a pack with a bundle of skins to create your own game. If so, which plateform do we have to own to use this skin bundle?

(+1)

This is a tileset for you to use in creating your own game. It's not designed for any specific platform or engine.

(1 edit)

Yeah I really like your work as well. I hope you do keep going with it. I couldn't afford the base pack today or this one. SO I'll have to wait until I can

I am planning to keep adding more for a long loooong time. I hope you'll stick around for it!

Wow amazing tileset! Nice work

Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
