Good day. Is there a possibility if I could have a single character base sheet to see if I could work with it? I am planning to buy the full pack, but I want to be sure if I can work with the whole mana-seed collection.
So I've been pondering how to leave this review for a couple of days now. I figured I would leave it here on the page for the base, since that's the starting point for the entirety of Mana Seed.
I don't have much to criticize, to be perfectly honest. The artwork is beautiful, the characters are well animated and the animations are plentiful. There are even animations for fishing and farming, if you have an inkling to make a character catch a fish or harvest turnips.
I love these sets. I think they are spectacular. Sel;el has done a marvelous job.
Hey Seliel! Hope you're well! Was thinking how great it would be to get two-handed swings (for a great sword or the ax) and similarly how that would be good for tree chopping. I suspect the current ax animation is more akin to the Harvest Moon stick or log chopping than a tree, right? Or am I missing something? Thanks and great work as always!!
Hey Seliel, I suck at color palettes and want to start making characters for your tilesets, but dont want to mess up the colors. Could you provide the color palette used for your assets so we can use them when creating characters?
Thanks Seliel. I havent bought the assets yet doing it this weekend :) Im very glad to see the sword animations and new tilesets. They look sweet AF keep up the great work!
Please read the accompanying text files I provided to explain all that.
If you're still having trouble, come to my Discord server (link on the product page) and you can get some direct help from me or other devs who are using the Base in various game engines.
Would this be considered top-down view (buildings interiors etc?) im new to pixel art stuff and just wanted to ask someone who knows what their doing would appreciate a reply! :)
The character is around 32 pixels high, and each frame is isolated in a 64x64 pixel cell, arranged evenly on a grid. The asset currently contains six sheets of sprites, each one 512x512 pixels in total.
Hi! Yeah, sword & shield is on the agenda. Might have that one in June or July. Spellcasting I will most likely get to, but I don't have a plan for it yet.
Sorry that's not something I have an interest in, but you can find me in my Discord where I can provide feedback if you share some art or maps you made.
If you sign up for my Patreon, I sometimes share works-in-progress or stream my art process (though admittedly not often).
Absolutely in love with your work. I am learning pixel art and game dev and this is incredible. Would you be able to provide a color palette that we could use to expand the assets? I am a beginner pixel artist and im terrible with color theory at the moment.
I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. The animations are all in order. There is also a text file in the archive that may help you understand how to use them.
I'm guessing by "swing" you're referring to an attack animation? I'm actually starting combat animations this month, and there will be a lot more than swinging a stick!
Yes exactly, attack animations (my bad, I should have been more clear). That is awesome to hear, I'd really love to use these to prototype some basic action RPG combat similar to Secret of Mana or Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Do you plan on doing them so that the weapons themselves will be separate layers/paper-doll style? Or did you have something different in mind? Either way could work for me (as long as they support 4 directions), just curious. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Yeah I'll definitely be adding combat animations eventually. I have all sorts of animation updates and outfit add-ons planned over the next couple years.

Yo seliel i'm bored and i know you respond quick so, what is some advice on a good game?
Your one of the only pixel artist, who i'd actually willingly spend money on the art it's so detailed yet so simplistic.
How much do you make from all the pixel art, and what keeps you going as a pixel artist?
I make enough. I love it.
lol you sound like my mom when i ask her about her age
Your mom sounds cool ๐
lol
this is so cool! possibly one of the best asset packs i've seen on itch.io, will definitely be using this soon :DD
That's great to hear! ๐
I've never seen anybody sow seeds or water plants quite as aggressively as that naked man. Love it!
If you're gonna do something, do it with gusto ๐

Thank you.
There currently is no free sample, but I'm considering it ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Alright, thank you. Once I have a sample, it would be easier for me to see if I can use it and if I can. I'd buy the whole collection.
There is now a free demo, check it out! ๐
Thank you very much, Seliel.

Thanks for the kind review! I'm glad you appreciate all my hard work ๐ค๐
what program do you use to make the arts?
I use Aseprite, exclusively.

Open the "color ramp samples.png" file included in this asset. It's got a bunch of suitable color palettes for skin tones and clothes you can use.
Same one from when you asked this last year ๐
Thanks Seliel. I havent bought the assets yet doing it this weekend :) Im very glad to see the sword animations and new tilesets. They look sweet AF keep up the great work!
Can you provide an underlay showing how to separate these?? Ugh, haha they are all on one sheet with no indication of which is walking, dashing etc.
I only see 3 Jumping frames and also 2 dashing? Am I missing something. I love it the art otherwise
Please read the accompanying text files I provided to explain all that.

Okay thanks for the reply

As opposed to side view, yes, I would say so ๐
Sorry if this has already been asked, but would this work for an RPG Maker MV game?
It was not made with RPG Maker in mind, so it would require some plugins to use to its full potential.

Thank you so much for the fast reply and information!
Is there a pdf inside? Can I change it to custom?
The sprite sheets are PNGs. You can make edits.
Hello. Nice sprites! Just wondering what the dimensions are?
The character is around 32 pixels high, and each frame is isolated in a 64x64 pixel cell, arranged evenly on a grid. The asset currently contains six sheets of sprites, each one 512x512 pixels in total.
Thank you for taking the time to reply, your art is amazing. Reminds me of Secret of Mana! Very gorgeous sprites!
Hey Seliel, asked this on the wrong place a week ago, wanted to ask you if you are working on sword combat or spells for this asset :)
Hi! Yeah, sword & shield is on the agenda. Might have that one in June or July. Spellcasting I will most likely get to, but I don't have a plan for it yet.
Very reminiscent of Seiken Densetsu 3. Nice pixel art!
Sorry to ask, what size are these sprites?
The character is around 32 pixels high. You can find that and more information on the product description ๐๐
Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry idk how I missed it! xD thank you <3
Seliel do you plan to do any course or online classes? I will buy your assets and would love to learn to make more of them :)
Sorry that's not something I have an interest in, but you can find me in my Discord where I can provide feedback if you share some art or maps you made.

There are actually a bunch of 3- and 4-color sample ramps already in this asset, so go wild! ๐
How to use Animation Sprite Sheet?
This sprite sheet is mixed order
I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. The animations are all in order. There is also a text file in the archive that may help you understand how to use them.
Hello, Seliel. I just wanted to clarify before I purchased. Does the pack also include the fishing pole and farming tools? Very nice work!
Yes it includes the fishing pole, hoe, axe, pick, watering can, smith's hammer & anvil. Just about everything you see except the fish ๐๐
Thank you so much for your quick reply!
Would likely buy this and all of the other Mana Seed asset's if only there was some sort of 4-directional swing animation. Either way, beautiful work!
I'm guessing by "swing" you're referring to an attack animation? I'm actually starting combat animations this month, and there will be a lot more than swinging a stick!

They will have the weapons and effects on separate layers, just like my outfits. Should be pretty cool, look for another update soon ๐
Awesome! Just purchased this pack :)
Is the fishing animation 4 direction's?
Yup, currently everything is 4 directions except the blacksmithing animation.
good work, thanks
I would like to learn the way you animate your 2d charachter. Do you have a YouTube channel =) ?
I do not have a YouTube channel, but I do stream my process fairly often on my Discord channel, though only patrons may connect to the stream.
Hey, will you add some attack and spell casting animations? Or make some in a extra package to buy? Thank you :)
Yeah I'll definitely be adding combat animations eventually. I have all sorts of animation updates and outfit add-ons planned over the next couple years.
