Time for your adventurers to hit the beach! This beautifully detailed 16x16-pixel tileset is perfect for a top-down RPG or adventure game in a classic colorful 16-bit art style. Here's a list of everything you'll find in this tileset:

  • A grassy undergrowth texture with 5 variant tiles (designed to be mingled with the regular grass in my seasonal forest tilesets so you can recolor for easy blending)
  • A dirt texture with 5 variant tiles (matches the dirt in my seasonal forest and Tropical Shores tilesets so you can recolor for easy blending)
  • Blending undergrowth to dirt corner-to-corner autotile
  • 5 tiles with tree roots popping up out of the grass
  • A 2x2 rocky outcropping on grass dirt or water
  • A bunch of plants!
    • A 5x6-tile kapok tree (on grass)
    • A 4x8-tile cypress (rising from the water)
    • A 3x4-tile date palm tree
    • A 2x3-tile giant venus fly trap plant
    • A 2x2-tile bird of paradise plant
    • A 2x2-tile pitcher plant
    • 3 1-tile exotic flowers
  • Super flexible stone cliffs
    • Both grass and dirt variants
    • Cave openings on grass or dirt (perfect for transitioning to my Muddy Cave tileset)
    • Verticle cliff stairs on grass or dirt
    • 1x3-tile optional side-cliffs for extra detail
  • A murky water texture with 5 variant tiles (matches the water in my seasonal forest tilesets so you can recolor for easy blending)
  • A shallow dirt shoreline autotile for a swampy jungle floor
  • A 4-frame bubbling water animation for giving your swamp some texture
  • 6 big lily pads of varying size for crossing jungle waters

In addition to everything found on the 256x256 sheet listed above, I've also included a few extras:

  • A separate sheet of prefabs to help you setup your terrain brushes and demonstrates how some elements are supposed to work (only available in one color swap).
  • A sample map file (TMX) with the prefabs and terrain brushes already configured (requires Tiled).
  • Separate sheets with objects of like size for easy slicing.
  • A small bonus tileset with flexible semi-transparent shadows (for giving your cliffs some depth), and the one I use for setting up collision (for easy exporting to Unity).

P.S. The header map was designed by the talented 101Wolfeys.

A couple things I think would go nicely with this rain forest set is some temple ruins and some huts. I'd commission them but I'm not able to just yet

You're right, that would be some cool stuff ๐Ÿ‘ but it would need to be a separate tileset.

That's exactly what I had in mind

I thought that making a tileset would be fun and easy till it took me 2 hours today to make 1 platformer tileset page ;-;

A tileset like this can take as long as 2 months to make ๐Ÿ˜“

Definitely gonna get this one as well as the beach tileset. Been looking for some appropriate tilesets for my RPG. Think I can repurpose the beach tileset for my desert area. See there are 2 areas that I haven't found good tilesets for. The desert and the marshland.

Hey, did you see there's finally a desert tileset? ๐Ÿค—

Clearly, there is only one word that is appropriate to describe this beautiful art... And that word is Amazeballs!

So good!

I'm continually amazed at the impeccable quality of these sets. And as the collection expands to more biomes I think it's increasingly viable to utilize Mana Seed sets for projects spanning a variety of environments.

Definitely can't to see what future sets you have planned!

Thanks for the kind words ๐Ÿฅฐ
